Harry Melling to Play Alexander Skarsgard’s Compliant in Kinky Queer Intimacy ‘Pillion’ From Element Pictures, Cornerstone Launching in Cannes

Alexander Skarsgard (“The Northman,” “Succession”) and Harry Melling (“The Pale Azure Eye,” “The Queen’s Gambit”) are set to guide the cast of “Pillion,” described as a “fun and filthy romance with heart” and being produced by multi-Oscar-winning powerhouse Element Pictures.

The film — to be launched in Cannes by Cornerstone, which is handling worldwide sales — marks the feature debut of Harry Lighton, whose short “Wren Boys” was nominated for foremost British short at the 2018 BAFTAs, was nominated for a BIFA and had its U.S. premiere at the Sundance Movie Festival.

Pillion, the film starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård position in the subculture of BDSM homosexual bikers, is hilarious, at times tender, arguably romantic, and certainly explicit. Director Harry Lighton’s debut feature depicts graphic sex between Skarsgård’s character Ray – a dominant, silent type – and Colin, played by Melling, an eager though awkward “sub.”

Prominent in the film credits is intimacy coordinator Robbie Taylor Hunt.

“The sex scenes, the orgy scenes were very fun and playful,” Skarsgård told us as he was joined by the two Harrys – Melling and Lighton – at Deadline’s Cannes Studio. “Robbie, the connection coordinator, was fantastic in helping because it got messy. There’s lots of people and lots of moving parts. But he was terrific in just orchestrating, choreographing it and also knowing when to step back and consent us go with it and when to kind of step in. Those were exciting days, absolutely.”

A former Harry Potter actor stars in an X-rated production that earned an incredible eight-minute standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival on Sunday night.

Actor Harry Melling, 36, who played Dudley Dursley in the eminent wizarding film franchise forms a key part of the cast of Pillion.

The production explores the BDSM affair between a male lover biker and a parking attendant - with the venture earning rapturous applause at the premiere this weekend.

The film is from first-time feature writer-director Harry Lighton and follows the character of Ray played by Alexander Skarsgård and the introverted Colin (Harry Melling). 

A synopsis reads: 'Colin, a timid man, meets Ray, a confident biker gang head, who initiates him into a under control relationship, challenging Colin's mundane existence and prompting personal development through their unconventional dynamic.'

As well as an eight-minute standing ovation at Cannes it has also earned praise from the critics.
