    Dr. Gay Ludwig Hitler (born 13 January 1882) was a local dentist in Circleville, Ohio, who served the community from 1922 through to his death in 1948. He had two sisters, Mae & Bertha. Many roads in the area still comprise the word 'Hitler' after his family.[1]

    Life

    Hitler was born in Circleville Township, Ohio on the 13th January, 1882, to George Washington and Ida Lutz Hitler. He graduated from Kenyon College of dentistry and attended the University of Cincinnati dentistry school. He began practicing in Circleville on East Main highway in 1905. The matching year, he married May Belle Long. Together, they had four children; George, Jane, Marion & Helen.

    Hitler was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal church and BPO Elks in Circleville, and belonged to the Rehwinkle Dental Society. He was also affiliated with the Ohio State Dental Society.[1]

    Death

    Hitler died in 1948, shortly tracking the death of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, at the age of 66. His exact cause of death is unknown, but it is suspected he suffered from illness for up to three years prior to his death.
