Gamers Cry Over Male Baldur's Gate 3 Characters Hitting On Them

Baldur's Gate 3 is a slap so far, amassing way more players than Larian Studios was expecting. But as it climbs through the Steam charts, there was no way that it was going to please everyone. Lo and behold, a few days after launch, a group of gamers have come together to share their grievances with the ultra-popular RPG. It just so happens that these grievances are pretty daft.

On Steam, dudebros are crying that other male characters are hitting on them. Yes, they realize you can just shoot them down, but that's not good enough, apparently. The fact that male characters would even assume they swing that way is enough to cause offence. I mean, a guy hitting on your when you're not interested? Must be awful, we can only imagine.

"Are there no unbent characters in this game?" asks a Steam user. "Literally every character can be seduced and hits on you constantly. This is immersion breaking.

"Let us select whether or not we're direct in the nature creator. Have the party acknowledge you're not gay, so you don'

After three years in early access and six years in progress, Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally, officially arrived. On PC and Steam Deck, at least. The PS5 launch won’t happen until September 6th, and the XBox launch won’t happen… for a while. Of course, longtime fans of the series are used to waiting. Developed by Larian Studios, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Dungeons & Dragons RPG that originated in the 1990s and hasn’t had a proper sequel in over 20 years. A lot has changed since those early days, including the fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 — with its 174 hours of cut-scenes and 17,000 diverse possible endings — will now allow you to play as a gay and/or trans ethics, including being nonbinary and using they/them pronouns. There’s even homosexual sex scenes, like every pleasant pen-and-paper D&D game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 takes place a century after the second game. The basic plot is that you’ve been kidnapped by mind flayers, who’ve invaded Faerûn and infected your brain with parasites called illithid tadpoles that will turn you into a mind flayer if you don’t do something to stop them. Luckily, you’ll locate your

Baldur’s Gate III: the queerest video game of all time?

There’s a point in Baldur’s Gate III where, should you resolve to, you can have sex with a bear. It was a covert revealed by Belgian developer Larian Studios during a pre-release live stream when they showcased the game’s romance options, including a lgbtq+ encounter with one involving the ethics of Halsin, a Druid who can morph into a bear.

The clip naturally spread around on social media, and resulted in Larian’s stream getting pulled from TikTok. But it also pointed towards the depths of the role-playing in the game. Baldur’s Gate III had clearly nailed a tabletop role-playing session’s anarchic, chaotic, and sometimes x-rated nature. This was the Dungeons & Dragons video game that people possess always wanted.

Baldur’s Gate III is, of course, the third entry in the Baldur’s Gate series. The earlier two games, released in 1998 and 2000 respectively and developed by RPG behemoth Bioware, were era-defining classics, often cited for reinvigorating the RPG genre and setting the typical for impactful gameplay where your in-game choices affected the course of the story.

For decades, fans have begged for a

Awesome game, a bit too much lgbtq+ stuff tho
It's kinda annoying everytime I wish to talk with the male characters, they are all thirsty af and in an attempt to just decline their advances I just don't converse to them at all. It's good to possess the inclusive options but maybe, just maybe, the world is more into vanilla stuff than the Internet seems to display. Just a thought.
