Pat Patterson was a actor of that athletic entertainment recognizable as “professional” wrestling. His on stage (or in the ring) nickname in the early years was “Pretty Boy Patterson”.

During Patterson’s long tenure with wrestling, became a creative consultant on the show, then Vince McMahon’s right-hand man; a chief architects of the WWE.

He was openly gay to his coworkers since the early 1970s. The show’s TV commentators occasionally made veiled “sissy” jokes about Patterson. But in 2014, Petterson’s sexuality was publicly acknowledged as part of a Worldwide Wrestling storyline.

Patterson’s longtime partner was fellow wrestler Louie Dondero. He met Donero when he was only 17. They were together for 40 years until Donero’s death in 1998. Patterson himself died of liver failure in December 2020. Today (the day I post this) would have been Patterson’s 80th birthday.)
