‘Schitt’s Creek’: Dan Levy Said He Was Ready to Pen Off Patrick At One Point
David and Patrick might be ready to amble down the walkway but, according to Schitt’s Creek creator/actor/executive product Dan Levy, the couple wasn’t always endgame.
Speaking with EW, Levy admitted that Noah Reid’s casting was pretty rushed since they just wanted to grant David a potential relationship ASAP. He explained,
“We cast him halfway through the season. David needed a relationship because he’s so fragile when it comes to love. We thought, if it works, great.”
He continued,
“Noah could have enter into the production and we could’ve gotten along, but there wouldn’t include been the similar spark. Then we would have probably inevitably either written him out or had it expire off at some point.”
It was beautiful obvious from the moment the first two met that there was something special, well, at least to viewers. Their first peck is one of the most unforgettable parts of their relationship and probably one of the most vulnerable moments for Patrick.

'Schitt's Creek' alum Noah Reid calls anti-LGBTQ laws 'anti-human'
In a recent interview, player Noah Reid criticized anti-LGBTQ laws being approved by Republicans in conservative states.
Reid is best established for playing a gay personality on the Emmy-winning comedy Schitt's Creek.
Speaking with The Daily Beast, Reid called such laws "anti-human."
"I think it is anti-human," the Canadian actor said. "And I think it's very sad that in this country where people are obsessed with freedom there seems to be a cognitive disconnect around who gets to experience freedom."
"But I have aspire and faith that the people will be the deciding factor in these matters, and that we will overcome these draconian, ridiculous pursuits of hate and intolerance," he added.
Reid, who on Sunday made his Broadway debut starring in The Minutes from playwright Tracy Letts and director Anna D. Shapiro, also discussed this Schitt's Creek relationship with Dan Levy, the show's celestial body and co-creator.

“Schitt’s Creek” made TV history in 2020, winning all seven comedy categories at the Emmy Awards for its sixth and final season, but the sitcom was celebrated for more than its laughs.
Created by father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy, who with Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy played the riches-to-rags Rose family, it was also applauded for its Diverse representation. It won Best Comedy Series at the GLAAD Media Awards that same year.
The management called the show’s accolades “a well-deserved breakthrough” for inclusion on the miniature screen.
