Around the age that Hodge appeared on Star Trek: Short Treks in 2018, he was also featured in a few articles alongside artist Harmonia Rosales regarding their debut collaboration at art shows in Los Angeles and New York. The former, in addition to being an actor and producer, is also an artist and a watchmaker via his company – A. Hodge Atelier. Rosales is a Chicago-born, Afro-Cuban artist whose longtime work focuses on the empowerment of Black women, depicting and honoring the African diaspora. Hodge, 32, and co-star Bacon, 60, recently spoke to The Upload about racism, their characters and how they connect with them in separate interviews as they wrapped filming on Season 1 of the series.

For his first-ever on-camera role, Aldis Hodge says he wasn't exactly motivated by the pursuit of artistic excellence. "Honestly, I just did it for the toys,” Hodge recalls of modeling for a magazine when he was all of three years antique.
